Welcome to a quick guide to the features of Thought Park.
The different areas of the site are accessed from the navigation menu at the top of the page, underneath the logo.
Every member of Thought Park has their own page. You can use your page to tell people about who you are, what you like, and what you've been up to recently. You can also share stuff you've created with people you know: including your pictures, sounds, and videos.
If you are a member of one or more groups then they are listed here. You can create your own group to invite people into, and you may also have the opportunity to join a range of public groups.
If you want to have a private conversation with one or more people, you can create a conversation here. Should you comment on a post then that thread of comments will form a conversation which is also listed on this page. When others respond to a conversation, the new contributions are highlighted.
If you 'leave' a conversation then you will no longer receive updates to that conversation.
You can keep a list of shortcuts to the personal pages of people you know. If they update their page you'll see a symbol next to their name to let you know that there's something new to see.
Each member can create a number of avatars. These are pictures made up of heads, eyes, mouths and hair. You can create new avatars, (optionally) name them, and most importantly choose which face components make up the picture. Create avatars of yourself, your friends, your family, famous people....
You can also activate one of your avatars. The active avatar is used to represent you around the website, for example in the Members list.
This is where you can upload your images, sounds and videos. These can then be dragged into your blurb or posts on your personal page. Sometimes you may have to wait for a small amount of time after the upload before you can see your files. This is because some files must be converted into the best format for the website.
This is a list of all Thought Park members. You can use it to find people's personal pages and to add new people to your friends list.
If you are the owner of a group then you may be required to moderate contributions to the group (posts and comments) before they appear on the site. When this happens the moderation tab will appear in the navigation menu and you can work through the content which has been submitted for approval.
